The League of Oil and Gas Impacted Coloradans launched in January 2016. Founded by a group of impacted citizens and community groups working to bring about an effective coordinated voice to help bring about proactive and pragmatic oil and gas policy solutions across Colorado. We seek to educate and engage the public around oil and gas issues to bring about public policies that prioritize public health, safety, and our natural resources.

Our Mission

Our mission is to unite Coloradans living near current and proposed oil and gas operations and other concerned citizens to pass new energy development policies that prioritize public health and safety and environmental protection.

LOGIC brings together impacted Coloradans, local groups and communities to support statewide oil and gas reform. We provide assistance to impacted Coloradans, existing organizations and new community groups as they develop.

We seek:

  1. To ensure an educated and relevant citizen voice at the decision-making tables when it comes to energy development.
  2. More transparent and participatory oil and gas policy processes that are responsible to citizen voices, and protect individual and community rights.
  3. Safer locations for developments that are sited further away from homes, schools, watersheds, foodsheds, and economic resources upon which people’s livelihoods depend.
  4. Requiring mitigations that reduce the impacts on neighbors and increase safety and emergency preparedness.
  5. Adequate regulations, enforcement capacity, and compensation that protect public health, safety, and individual rights.
  6. More research to determine the short and long-range impacts of development on public health and safety.
